This service is designed for fund managers with daily priced mutual fund ranges. Many clients outsource these functions but some perform the functions in house.
The data and metrics for these functions are not standardised so we have a process in place for data capture with all eight major outsource service providers. We produce monthly reports for clients which compare the quality of service received versus their peer group. These cover:
- The number and value of material and non-material errors, as well as the reasons for them.
- We also analyse the number of days before errors were discovered and time taken to fix the NAV.
- Price delivery to different sources and timeliness of other report delivery.
- Leading indicators of service quality including cash and stock reconciliations and staff turnover.
We have UK, Luxembourg and Dublin mutual fund peer groups and a UK Unit Linked fund group. As this analysis is management and not regulatory driven, we have common standards. For example material errors are over 50 basis points irrespective of fund domicile.
Annually we benchmark fund accounting fees paid by the client against its chosen peer group. We can also provide detailed analysis of specific fees that stand out as anomalies.
